- 250 grams kadayıf (shredded wheat)
- 125 grams unsalted butter
- 1 liter milk
- 150 grams granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100 grams cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 100 grams crushed walnuts
- 1 cup powdered sugar for garnish
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter and add the kadayıf, stirring until golden and crispy.
- Spread half of the crispy kadayıf in a baking dish.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs and gradually add the cornstarch and vanilla.
- Combine the egg mixture with the milk mixture and cook until thickened.
- Pour the milk pudding over the kadayıf in the baking dish.
- Top with the remaining kadayıf and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Let it cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add rose water to the milk pudding.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
