Kadayıf-Pudding is a sumptuous dessert made from shredded wheat and a rich milk pudding that is sure to delight.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams kadayıf (shredded wheat)
  • 125 grams unsalted butter
  • 1 liter milk
  • 150 grams granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 grams cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100 grams crushed walnuts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter and add the kadayıf, stirring until golden and crispy.
  3. Spread half of the crispy kadayıf in a baking dish.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the milk and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
  5. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and gradually add the cornstarch and vanilla.
  6. Combine the egg mixture with the milk mixture and cook until thickened.
  7. Pour the milk pudding over the kadayıf in the baking dish.
  8. Top with the remaining kadayıf and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  9. Let it cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add rose water to the milk pudding.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
