Gebackhörner are a traditional German pastry, featuring a sweet and flaky dough, often enjoyed during special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams flour
  • 125 grams butter
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 100 grams raspberry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and salt until the dough is smooth.
  3. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut into triangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of raspberry jam at the wide end of each triangle.
  6. Roll the triangles up to form crescent shapes.
  7. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • These pastries are delicious warm or at room temperature.
